The past few months have been extremely busy and time has literally just flown by. We managed to sneak away for a few days at the beginning of December which was nice but it seemed that as soon as we got back-it was time for another holiday. Christmas was hectic but since my family decided not to exchange gifts and only to spend time with each other...it really brought back the real meaning of Christmas and took the monetary pressure off. We had a wonderful brunch on boxing day at my mom's and couldn't have asked or received a nicer present than spending time with my family. Christmas day hosted our traditional family Christmas dinner at my aunt and uncles. My cousin's were home visiting from Cambodia and it was nice to catch up and find out all of about their life living there. It certainly make us appreciate all that we have living here in Canada. They brought back little angels for everyone...these angels are beautiful and have a special meaning.
Dinner was tough this year because we miss my uncle but we know he was there in spirit and allowed aunt Cathy to gain the strength to visit for a couple hours. My grandmother was also truly missed at Christmas because she was unable to attend dinner due to the stage of her alzheimer's .

At the end of January, we had a fabulous brunch at the The Old Mill in Ancaster to celebrate my mom's birthday. My mom, sister, brother-in-law, our good friend Marilou, and myself all were there to honour an amazing woman that i am fortunate to call my mom!!! The food was astounding and every one thoroughly enjoyed brunch! I love celebrating my mom's birthday because it gives us a chance to spoil her.

I've been receiving a lot of emails from people inquiring as to what competitions i will be entering for 2009 and to be honest, i can't answer that question quite yet as I am currently undecided. I had taken 4 months off training at the end of 2008 and just started back at the gym in January. Until i see how my body adjusts to reintroducing training, i won't be announcing any competition dates. I have downsized a bit and I am excited to see what my "new" physique will look like for this season however, since I have downsize a bit, i am a little more comfortable with my "off-season" curves now .

Things are still really hectic in our lives at the moment but i will try to update more frequently.

I was craving apple pie all weekend and so this was a must to bring home for dessert! We went to the Rockton World's Fair and spent a beautiful afternoon in the sunshine! Here I am again....I just can't resist these little fellows!

As most of you know by now, my experience at this year’s Canadian figure nationals was extremely heartbreaking for me.

It was quite the rocky couple of days leading up to the competition from the minute we landed in BC. Thursday night when we arrived in Vancouver, West Jet lost my flippn suitcase (It’s a good thing I always carry my suits and shoes in my carry on but all my clothes, makeup, tanning stuff, etc were packed in my big bag) I was livid!! Thank goodness Tami (who flew in that morning was still awake and she calmed me down. She was my lifesaver and offered to let me borrow some clothes if I needed until my luggage was found). After waiting for an hour at the airport, just as we were getting in to our rental, Darrin got the call that my suitcase came on another flight. We had a stop in Edmonton and apparently my suitcase was taken off and left there.

When I ran back in to the Vancouver airport to retrieve my luggage, guess what, I ended up getting LOST!!!! and was dragging around a 90+lbs suitcase all over the building, up and down stairs, for close to an hour before I found Darrin. We were texting each other back and fourth and I still couldn’t locate him. It was around 1am our time when this was happening so I was already tired and hungry which didn’t make things any better. THEN when we got to the hotel, I opened my suitcase to discover my Jan Tana exploded and there was dye everywhere!!! What a mess! Thank goodness I had all my towels and sheets on top of my clothes. In the end, it was just a couple of towels, sheets and my suitcase that got tanned!! However that was just the start of worse things to come.....

I still don’t know exactly what was physically wrong with me (probably a combo of things or I picked up a virus on the plane) but I had some wicked bloat which began on Friday late morning and with that, was the start of a downward spiral. I was puffed up like a blow fish and could not even stand up straight. I threw up Friday night, I was nauseous even after I threw up, had a fever, sweats, cramping, dizziness, bloating etc. My body was clearly giving me every sign that something was wrong. I barely got 2 hours sleep before the show and was exhausted. At the venue I was having a rough time keeping my eyes open. I was feeling horrible when we were called to the pump up room and felt my body was breaking down. During the prelim (first) round (black suit) I blacked out on stage. I had never blacked out before but when it started, I couldn’t control it. It kept getting brighter and brighter until I couldn’t see anything then I started to weeble and wobble and still couldn’t see then lost my balance. The 5 inch heels are hard enough to stand in let alone being blind. The head judge gave the ok to take me off stage and I had some water then went back out. Debbie (the head judge) waited for me and I was called out in the top of my class. Even though I still felt like death, I wasn’t giving up. The entire time I was on stage, I couldn’t pose, my heart was racing, my body could not cool itself, I couldn’t control my breathing and my blood pressure skyrocketed. I made it through round one and I thought after the prelim round if I lied down before my next class, drank and ate I could pull myself together and come back strong in the next round.

When we were called for our 2^nd round, my balance was still off, I had a fever and felt even worse. I tried going out and did my turns but that was it, I knew I couldn’t keep going. As disappointing as that was, I would rather walk off stage then be carried off. Plus it was not fair to the rest of the girls if they had to wait for me again. The stage was extremely hot & humid and all of us were dripping with sweat. The physiques were so wet that the stage help were wiping down the girls. The temperature on that stage during the morning was deadly to the competitors that were already dehydrated.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of round 2 I pulled out because physically I couldn’t keep going-I was sick and couldn’t risk losing any more fluid without causing serious injury. I was heartbroken, this couldn’t have happened at the worst time but everything happens for a reason. Right from the start of this trip there were signs that were telling me that this just wasn’t meant to be.

Even though I look the best I have ever looked, I could not present myself and I had to take care of my health first and foremost. I am extremely disappointed but the North Americans are in 2weeks and we are driving down (I truly feel I picked up something on the airplane) and I will be more than ready to make a comeback.

Back to show day, when the evening show started, Darrin and I went back to support all the girls who worked so hard to get to the Nationals. I felt like death but there was no way I was going to miss seeing my friends shine on stage. I loaded up on gravol, advil, fluids & food then headed back. It was worth going back to see everyone receive their trophies. I was so excited for each and every girl so much so that I wasn’t sad that I withdrew. The smiles and glow on each of their faces was enough to make the whole world smile.

The Ontario team was incredible this year! We had a lot of girls travel to BC and many of them made the top 5!

I began to feel better later in the day on Sunday but still wasn’t right. It wasn’t until Wednesday morning that I knew I was getting better but in the end, I was well enough to enjoy a couple days of holidays in beautiful British Columbia with Darrin before flying home.

I have a million more things to write about but all that will come in the days ahead. For now, I want to thank you for all your support, it truly touched me to know how many friends took the time to email, message and send their good lucks! Im sorry to have disappointed everyone but watch for me to make a comeback on Labour Day weekend at the North Americans!

I can not believe how fast the days are passing and how quickly the time is approaching for us to board that plane to BC on Thursday evening! The excitement is beginning to set in as I enter the final days of prep for this show and just knowing that I will be seeing many of my friends from across Canada whom I only get to see a couple times a year at National venues is very heart warming.

My new prep week is going exactly as I planned and my physique is bang on and dialed in!! I could not be happier.:):) I can honestly say, as each day passes, this is THE best I have ever looked and felt going in to a competition. I will fit in 2 more training sessions, a couple more cardio sessions before I am officially contest ready and only 4 more sleeps until I hit the stage!

Within these past 2 weeks my physique has drastically changed and I am extremely happy with my conditioning heading in to the final stretch. To bring my physique up a few more notches this year, I will be implementing several changes to my final week preparation in order to showcase a more refined and complete figure.

I have made a habit to practice my posing for a short while every night in order to build my stamina. By doing this nightly, I am preventing any exhaustion my back muscles. Long posing sessions can be detrimental as the physique wears out bad habits are formed and concentration diminishes.

I am confident, determined, focused and ready hit that stage to attain that top spot:)

Here I go again! The final days of prep for my 3rd Canadian National competition are upon me. The past few weeks my physique has been changing & tightening dramatically. I'm happy to say that I will present a more complete and improved physique than I did last year.
I'm not going to post any physique "revealing" photos on here until the weekend of the Nationals, I will keep everyone in suspense until then.

For 4 months Darrin has been busy building a new home for Emerge Inc. The construction for the 3500 square foot studio was completed in September and the equipment slowly arrived throughout the past month and a half... The equipment is brand new, custom built (with the exception of the cardio machines) and is amazing! We are proud to begin to show off Emerge's new home:)

BRENDAN Darrin and I went to visit Brendan to celebrate his 14th birthday a few weeks ago. We can't believe how fast he growing up..wow..We had nice day...full of shopping and eating! It was nice to see him and we wish him well as he begins High school tomorrow.
The last official long weekend of summer:(

Darrin has been so busy with Emerge lately we haven't had time to do much socializing. This weekend we made time for ourselves and met up with Dwayne and Melissa. Of course the plan was to go to Rib fest!! We all had our fill of Ribs and pulled pork at the park. The ribs were amazing as always! It was nice to relax and have fun with friends:)

Happy Birthday

Tammy and Paul!
We celebrated Tammy's and Paul's Birthdays on the August 1st long weekend at the cottage! Our family knows that we always celebrate their birthdays on this weekend and this year it was better than ever!! Darrin and I went up and spent a couple days with my sister, Paul and mom:):) I headed up on Saturday and Darrin unfortunately couldn't make up until late Saturday night but he finally made it there and was able to unwind, relax
and celebrate with us!! Throughout the entire weekend we had many many laughs, lots of good food and lots of drinks!! I baked new goodies and the biggest hit was my chocolate chip cheese ball! I think we were all carbed-out by the
end of the weekend.

We brought the "kids" up with us too...Rio, Ashley, Roo, and Joey. Poor Roo...he doesn't like travelling much so it took him a couple days to recover..lol. Rio and the others absolutely loooooooooooooooooooooove the cottage and don't mind travelling one bit!!

Our cottage is my absolute favourite place to go to "get away" but unfortunately the past couple of years..we haven't gone up much.............but that will be changing as our priorities to take more time for ourselves is taking precedence. Life is too short to miss out on the things we love in life. We haven't seen my extended family since Christmas so there was a lot of catching up to do and visiting. It was nice. During one visit on Saturday night, my sister had to take Rio for a walk with us cause a couple nights before I wiped out down my stairs and dislocated my finger. At least I had lots of alcohol to get me through the pain..lol.. and a great sister willing to walk my crazy puppy!! I do have to go and get my finger looked at and have it straightened back out...ouch!! I'm not looking forward to that! Tuesday, at the store, my friends noticed I was favouring my finger and told me I have to go to the doc's....I'm not one to go to the doctors and my close friends and family know that---therefore they have to push (or give me a swift kick in the a$$) me go..lol. My workouts this past week have been a little uncomfortable and I had to skip doing my arms and shoulders as my finger was too sore to grip and lift any weight.

Last 4 weeks...and thank you's!

Whewwwwwwww…where do I begin?... It’s been a while since I’ve had a more than a minute to sit in front of the computer and give everyone an blog update.

Ok, I’ll begin by going back about 4 weeks ago to the OPA Ontario Championships. Darrin and I would like to congratulate Team Emerge on a fabulous competition season here in Ontario. Team Emerge had 4 ladies compete on june 23^rd in London Ontario at the level 3 OPA championships. Pauline Trinier was on role this year and emerged the new 2007 Ontario Masters Champion (team Emerge Kelly Kuus is the 2006 Master Champ) and she also placed 3^rd in the Open medium class. Cindy Currie placed 2^nd in Masters qualifying her for the CBBF Nationals in Edmonton a week later,(Darrin and Cindy)
Kelly Kuus gave the open medium class a shot in an attempt to qualify for the open class at the Nationals, but her focus was the masters at the Nationals a week later; Kelly looked fabulous on stage—she didn’t change a thing with her diet just threw on a coat of protan and hit the stage-she came 5^th in a very tough class, and finally the newest member of team Emerge Sylvia Cameron came in her best condition to date and placed 4^th in a very tough class in Masters. Congratulations to Team Emerge on an outstanding showing at the Ontario’s! After the Ontario’s were completed our focus was now on the CBBF Canadian Nationals in Edmonton. Team Emerge would have 3 members compete on June 30^th. Cindy Currie and Kelly Kuus both compete in Masters and myself in Med-Tall figure.

One week till the Nationals…..

On Wednesday I went to see Karen from KHP designs to go for my final fitting and pick up my amazing suits. Karen is an angel…the suits she created for me fit like a glove and showcased my figure brilliantly. She created a new prejudging suit, a new 2 piece and altered my original one piece. My physique this year was a lot different then previous years…so she had to shrink my one piece quite a bit. I can always count on Karen to make me “shine on stage”. Thank you Karen for sponsoring me for the 2007 season…you are the best!!

Thursday morning, I went to say bye to my mom…I went to her work so she could see “her little girl” before getting my hair done. My mom has always been so supportive and proud of me. It was nice to give her a hug and spend a few minutes with her before I left. Darrin and I flew out to Edmonton later Thursday afternoon. There had been a lot of issues going on “behind the scenes” here at home for the past couple of months and it was nice to finally get on a plane and away for a few days. After dieting for 19 weeks (the longest I have ever “contest dieted for”) and preparing for the biggest show of my life; the time finally arrived to get in Darrin’s car and head off to the airport. Darrin knows how much competing and our lifestyle means to me --his support and guidance have been incredible this year!!! This was the best condition I have ever been in I was very happy with the way I was dialing in—the final week prep is always the hardest but the people close to me who know how much heart I put into competing-made the last few days wonderful. I had many of my close friends visit me before we left bringing me good luck cards and gifts—it was a little overwhelming but I appreciated everyone and everything.

As we arrived at the airport we met Kelly and Doug in the parking lot….they were on the same flight as us so that was nice to be able to chat with them at the airport. The flight was fantastic and our reservations all went very smoothly…we checked into the host hotel later that evening and we were happy to get settled in. On Friday before registration Darrin and I went to West Edmonton Mall for a few hours to keep ourselves busy. I got in a bit of cardio "yuck!" walking around and Darrin went to the shooting range. I sat behind the glass and watched him shoot the “big guns”!! lol

Friday afternoon after the mall excursion…Kelly and I went down to pre-registration together and before the athlete meeting both went back to our rooms and threw on another coat of protan. When we came down for the athlete meeting Fred Kens from the OPA met Team Ontario outside the hall and presented us with an envelope, team jacket and bag. It was great!! Thank you to the OPA for all the goodies and the monetary gift; it helped greatly. At the meeting it was nice to finally see everyone and say “hey” before the big day!

Saturday morning Kelly and I went over to see Nina at her hotel to get our makeup done. Thank goodness for Nina…she made us look beautiful!! She was my lifesaver!!! Cindy had gone to see Nina a couple hours before us. And all the girls looked gorgeous! After our makeup was done we all headed over to the venue. It was held at the same hall as last year so everything was very familiar to Darrin and I. The show itself ran very smoothly and it was incredibly organized. Most of Team Ontario were together in the back. It was nice to be there supporting and helping each other out. The day was great and the competition was fantastic. Since our trainers couldn’t be with us in the back, Darrin and I kept in contact throughout the show via text messaging. In between the morning and evening shows, the four of us (Kelly, Doug, Darrin and I) went outside and took some pics. It was a lot of fun!!

My goal this year was to place among the top 5 in Canada (in my class) and as we came back for the evening show I was praying for that spot… after coming on stage in our 2 piece performing ¼ turns in the line up ..the top 5 were called out for the final judging comparisons. I was called out!! It was the best feeling in the world to me. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Darrin was so proud of me. I ended up placing 4^th in my class… I was on cloud nine!

After the show we went out for a bite to eat at Earls then back to the hotel to shower and off to bed.

Sunday, I was still so incredibly happy!! Darrin and I went out and took some more photos before I began celebratory eating..lol.. After the photoshoot we went to Denny’s for breakfast then back to the mall where I was treated to some shopping. I was so spoiled. We wondered around the mall again for a few hours, went out for lunch and drove around the area for a bit before heading back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

A dinner to remember!

For dinner we went to Koukouti restaurant. Many of you may be familiar with this Greek restaurant as it has been the focus of a TV series on the food network for the past couple of years. http://www.foodtv.ca/thefamilyrestaurant
The food was amazing!! Darrin and I had a 12 course meal and everything we had was outstanding. We had the chance to meet the members of the family who starred in the show and Darrin chatted with the “mom” for a few minutes. At the end of dinner we were toooo full….it took everything in us just to get back to the hotel. We were going to go and watch the Canada Day fireworks but I ended up passing out when we got back to our room. But I still managed to wake up a few hours later and eat some treats Tami and Robin sent for me..lol.

After spending a beautiful, relaxing day together, Darrin and I woke up on Monday, packed and headed back to the airport. The flight was great again. This time Cindy, Glen, Jake, Kelly, Doug, Darrin and I were all on the same flight home. We arrived back in Hamilton late in the afternoon on Monday, said our goodbyes and had a few hours to get ready to go back to work on Tuesday.

The following few days I had soo many visits, emails and calls from friends and family congratulating me, again, it was all very overwhelming. I had the chance to look over the pictures from the weekend and slowly get caught up on work. I’m still trying to catch up on everything but one thing for sure is….i don’t have to catch up eating…that is one thing I’ve done enough of!!

Last Sunday Shawn and Pauline invited Darrin, Kelly, Doug and I all over for a BBQ. It was great! They cooked up a storm and we all were able to relax, eat, DRINK and have lots of laughs!! I think my cheeks are still sore..lol.. It was nice to be “normal” for an evening and to spend time with friends. Thank you Shawn and Pauline for a nice evening and for the gifts.

So that will finally bring everyone up to date on my life for the previous few weeks…..I still have lots of news to announce but that will have to wait till my next entry…however, last but not least:

Well...this is it... the final couple days leading up to the Canadian Nationals:):) It's Thursday morning and I've been up since 4am getting stuff ready for today. I'm a little tired however am very anxious to get on a plane and into the final hours before i step on stage.

I'm very happy with my physique this year, I am a lot tighter and leaner than last year. Knowing that, the past 19 weeks of dieting have been worth it:):):)

I don't have much time, but I will give everyone a huge update next week on my thoughts, feelings and experience at this years Nationals:):):) and of course lots of pictures.

Wow…where do I begin to start. These past few weeks have been jammed packed for me. Since the Mississauga show I’ve been kicking things in to high gear for the Nationals which is coming up in less than 2 weeks. The time is flying by and since we are busy practically every day now till we fly out on the 28^thI know these next couple of weeks are going to be a blur. We have everything booked in Edmonton already (hotel and car), received the tickets in the mail, booked the flight, booked my hair appointments and now there are just a couple minor details and we’ll be ready to rock and roll! Everyone has been incredibly supportive this year and its made a huge difference in my prep….this is by far the best my physique has looked for any of my past competitions. I can’t wait to present a different package on the National stage this year.

2 Saturdays ago, I was in attendance during the Fame Expo with Allmax. It was a lot fun working the booth and having many of the Allmax team there. All of the Allmax sponsored athletes are incredible people…beautiful on the inside and out. I got the chance to meet a lot of new people and reunite with old friends. It was a great day.
When I arrived home after the fame show…I threw on a coat of protan because the next day I had to travel back to Toronto for an Allmax photo shoot. The shoot was fantastic. I can’t wait to see the pics..All of the athletes were in peak condition and I’m sure the camera's were lov’n it! It was nice getting to know and hanging out with the Allmax team. After I arrived home from the shoot, Darrin and I went and took some additional pics outside since i had the protan on.

This past Friday marked the day of the premier SAF model search presented by Doug Schneider and promoted by Jamor Productions. Allmax was one of the main sponsors and they couldn’t have chosen a more superb event to sponsor. Friday afternoon I headed out to Toronto. I’m not very good with directions—you could say I’m directionally dysfunctional…lol..I drove out to York University by myself and found the university…but that was about it..I had to call my good friend Brenda to come and find me. She rescued me and we finally made it to the hall. The model search was held at a hall in side the York U campus. It was beautiful!! The event was AMAZING and the girls were all stunning. I had the honour of being one of the judges. Talk about stressful!! Soo many beautiful girls and the competition was fierce. The whole stage lit up with beauty, grace and confidence. Keep your eyes open for the newest girls of SAF. I want to say to all the girls that competed…congratulations on a fabulous performance--each and every one of you looked phenomenal!! The audience was treated to IFBB judge; Winston Roberts and IFBB pro fitness competitor Mindi O’Brien as mc’s for the evening. They kept the audience entertained throughout the entire event with lots of jokes, humour and details about each one of the competitors. The event was very well organized and ran very smoothly. After the show was done..another close friend of mine, Tami, made sure I didn’t get lost going home! Thank goodness for friendsJ

Today is father’s day and I would like to wish all of the father’s (especially Darrin, Dick and my dad) out there a very happy and enjoyable day!! Today is the the day to take moment and tell your fathers that you love them!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE!!
FRIDAY MAY 18TH WAS DARRIN'S 38TH!

Mother's Day dinner
Last Sunday we honoured 3 beautiful mom's on Mother's day!!
Tammy and Paul hosted Mother's day dinner again this year!! Darrin made his famous BBQ shrimp for a starter and Tammy made her spinach & feta stuffed chicken breast with 2 side dishes and I was in charge of desserts. I wasn't allowed to cheat and I have to admit it was tough being at dinner and smelling the delicious aroma of scrumptious food and not able to indulge! However...I made it through the evening.

I went overboard with the desserts this year. I was baking a bunch of new recipes and I had a strawberry theme going on. But just in case the new recipes didn't turn out..I made some old favourites too. I had to have Darrin and Mark taste test all the goodies as I prepared them to make sure they were all ok to bring for dinner. Poor.....Darrin...and Mark..lol..

I made chocolate caramel brownies, chocolate covered strawberries, white chocolate dipped strawberries, strawberry biscuits, strawberry strudel bars, strawberry cheesecake oatmeal bars, strawberry filled butter cookie sandwiches, strawberry filled oatmeal cookies, banana cream sandwich cookies and strawberry cream filled mini cupcakes. I must have made enough goodies for 50 people!! Needless to say everyone went home with a treat container:)
WWE at Copps!!

Attending a live event is something I haven't done since I was a little girl. My dad used to take me to wrestling when it came to Hamilton. Everyone who knows us, knows Darrin is a big wrestling fan and since it was coming to Hamilton he decided to get us tickets. Well....these weren't just any old tickets...they were FRONT ROW seats!! The evening was amazing!! I couldn't believe how the show has changed....needless to say..the seats made the evening amazing!! Darrin was able to get some fantastic photos and being so close to the ring really made me realize what these guys (and girls) put their bodies through. They may be entertainers but my gosh....some of those "thumps" and "slams" were crazy! During the Cena match we had a surprise with him being thrown over the barrier and almost landing in Darrin's lap!!

We will remember that event for a long time to come!!
It was a lot of fun:)

Pauline competed yesterday at the Level one OPA BB, fitness and figure competition in Stratford and emerged a champion in her classes! She came out with the 1st in Figure Masters and 2nd (**should have been 1st) in the open class!

Hey everyone,

I’m sorry for the lack of updates but the past couple of weeks have been extremely busy. I promised myself before bed tonight I’d have an update done and uploaded onto my blog.

What’s been going on in my life for the past couple weeks…well for one, a lot of work!! The store has been extremely busy and keeping me on my toes. It’s been amazing meeting so many new people and having amazing visits from friends! I love seeing everyone!! My diet has been amazing!! Although the week before last….

Darrin brought home a SCRUMPTIOUS homebaked cheesecake, I wasn’t tempted..well..ok, maybe a little or well….A LOT…but I didn’t give in!! Darrin received this work of art from a client that he did a diet for…can you believe it! She repaid him in cheesecake!! lol but he wasn’t complaining as it was simply amazing! I couldn’t believe the sheer weight of it. Thank you Chelsea for taking care of Darrin’s sweet tooth…he loved it! And i'm hoping there will be a piece still frozen for me when i'm allowed to have a cheat meal:)

10 weeks and counting till the Nationals:

I received the poster for the Nationals in the mail and it looks great! I’m getting really excited to go out to Edmonton this year! The past couple weeks my physique has made huge changes… my diet has been bang on, with NO cheats!! We changed things up again a week ago and my body has kicked into overdrive! It’s very motivating to see the changes that are happening week to week. Now I just need a tan! My fellow team emerge member, Kelly is also doing VERY well with her prep...she's soo far ahead and looks amazing!

My training is also going great!! My strength is through the roof and I have a tone of energy! The only thing that is driving me crazy is my sleep pattern…I can’t sleep for more than 3 hours at a time…the slightest little “flop” or sound wakes me up. I’m hoping this is just temporary.

CBBF Fitness and Figure Nationals

12 weeks and counting.......

The 3 month out mark has finally arrived!! I've been feeling great this past week..my energy levels are through the roof, I'm still eating lots and my training is fantastic!! My body has been responding very well to everything and hopefully in a few more weeks I'll be able to have a little "cheat" meal or treat but until then we want my physique to be ahead of schedule and allow my body to adjust & keep the fat loss moving!! Darrin usually allows me to have a weekly cheat meal however, this year, he has decided that cheats just aren't a part of the programme right now.

I have lots to do today...so i should go and get started!!

Yesterday we had a great visit from Dwayne and Melissa, after visiting Paul in the morning they stopped by the gym on the way home:) It was great to see the 3 of them. Beckham was showing off his new tricks and by the end of the visit was wiped out on the couch...he's soo cute.

Today is Mel turns the big 3-0 and we would like to wish her the happiest of birthdays!!

Journey to the Nationals update:

14 weeks and counting..... This past week hasn’t been the best in the area of fat loss…the changes are there but extra slow. I’ve been super tired. My body has been telling me to take it easy and I’ve listened to it for the most part, taken my supplements and so far that virus/flu going around hasn’t hit me. Today, I’m feeling a little more energized but I’m still not back to normal. Hopefully with a little relaxation today I’ll wake up tomorrow and feel like million bucks!! My training is amazing…my strength, endurance and mind are still strong. However, like I said in the first sentence, my fat loss has slowed just a little bit, so Darrin has changed things up in my diet. I tend to do this every 4-5 weeks anyway so this is right on target. I’m still seeing changes in my physique and I’m happy with everything so far….my abs are sharpening up and I’m starting to see some detail in my legs.

yesterday and didn’t drink toooo much ‘green’ beer..lol. Darrin and I went out for dinner and I was able to have a little cheat meal with some candy for dessert afterwards at home. It was great!!

MY COMPETITION PREP IS NOW IN ACTION!!
Many of you who follow my blog have probably read and realized by now that I am currently dieting. I had to verify my qualification before I made my announcement that I'm going back to compete at the Canadian Nationals this year in Edmonton. It was a big decision but I’m very excited. This year when I do go back to the National stage, my physique will be a lot different than last year. I will be going in lean and “compact”. I’m not getting my hopes up as we all know judging in figure can very controversial, however I am focused and determined to look the better than I ever have. The countdown is on and I’m currently 15 weeks out. I have chosen to do a longer prep this year so my body and conditioning will have plenty of time to get it together. My fellow ‘team Emerge” member, Kelly Kuus will also be going to Edmonton to compete in the Figure Masters. Kelly began her prep last week.

More news…

Pauline and I went to visit KHP designs on Friday for her first suit fitting, and as always Karen was amazing. Pauline chose her material and her suits are going to “sparkle”. I can’t wait to see them.

I’ve been addicted to “facebook” for the past 2 weeks. I can’t believe how many people I have reunited with from my past…I think my whole highschool class is on there!! It’s been incredible and finally being able to talk to Cherylynn (my best friend of 29 years!!!) again is simply the best feeling!! I tend to lose touch with a lot of people by not keeping in contact but when you have that closeness in your heart, it could be 1 day or 3 years that you don’t see someone but you know if you call that person they will always be there for you no matter what.

Yesterday and last night we experienced a huge snow storm. Where we live we managed to get the worst of it too...The snow and the subsequent snow difts were/are crazy. We spent a couple hours digging out this morning and we'll head out later to finish the rest when the ploughs come down our street. As the pictures show....my car was buried under the snow and we had to use our back patio door to get out of our house to begin digging out.

Superbowl Sunday!

Tonight is the Superbowl and we'll be home cheering on the Colts. Darrin and I don't follow football but since the Colts are Brendan's team and he knows his football, I think that's a good choice for us!

Mom's birthday dinner

We had a fabulous dinner at my sister's place for mom's birthday! Tammy made amazing hors d'ouvres, Darrin's main course of herb-crusted salmon with wild mushroom barley risotto was to die for and for dessert I made triple chocolate brownies and drowned them in ice cream and choc. fudge sauce. The battery in my camera didn't have much "juice" left so unfortunately i didn't take many pictures...however, I'm hoping Paul will send us some:) It was a great evening with lots of laughs.

WoW...what a great start to 2007!!

I've been extremely busy and I have not had a lot time for blog or website updates..my apologies. I'm back dieting as of January 2nd and I feel great!! It took a couple days to "detox" all the sugar, choc and heavenly apple pie (which my father in law has been eating and letting me know!!) ..lol..but now my body is feeling great, except, I had acquired a rotten virus...however I'm not one to let a little cold get me down.

Ours was nice as always...we ordered in Chinese food, drank some wine and waited for the sky to light up with fireworks!! We've always chosen to stay home on New Year's eve and celebrate with just the 2 (or 3, with Rio) of us.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
wow...the holidays seem to get busier and busier every year! As always...we had a fantastic time visiting with friends and family over the past week and we still have a few more visits to get in before the new year. Our Christmas began on the 22nd when we had Brendan down for the night. The next evening on the 23rd we had a nice visit and great dinner with Darrin's parents before we had to make the long drive back to Brendan's house. On the 24th we travelled to Darrin's parents for dinner with my mom, Tammy, Paul and Marilou. It was a great evening with tonnes of food, laughs and gifts. Darrin was very happy when he opened his box of Teddy bears!! lol...after he dug in a bit he revealed his actual gift and was quite surprised with the contents of the box. Needless to say we were all spoiled and stuffed when we left. We brought home some goodies and both Darrin and I had a very festive breakfast the next day....lol..Carb overload!!

Thank you Dick and Kay for a fabulous evening and spectacular food.

On Christmas day Darrin and I travelled to my Uncle Donley and Aunt Judi's house for dinner. There is usually 35-40 of us that get together for this special holiday. My mom brought my grandmother and my great-Aunt was there as well..the two sisters looked amazing and we were all honoured and thankful to have them both with us. As for the youngest generation in our family...the twins are getting so big, my cousin is doing an awesome job at raising these two amazing boys! And my other cousin had his little baby there...isn't she cute, she was smiling all night long!! There are still a few more of my family members that I can't wait to visit; my 3 little angels and my cousin Jen...it's been waaaaaaaaay too long! I'm hoping to hook up with them soon.

Here's my Christmas Goodie Package!!

The Monday before the Christmas weekend i was busy baking and packaging up some treats to give out during the holidays (the card above shows the contents of my goodie packages)...then Darrin had asked me to do a favour for one of his clients that was having a houseful of people spend the holidays with her...he wanted me to bake for 25 people, So of course i said yes! For the next 3 days my kitchen looked like a bakery and i managed to prepare over 300 pieces of sweet stuff for her to serve during the holidays! I hope her guests enjoyed the goodies.

Pay Per View this Saturday!!

This Saturday we'll be having some friends over to watch the UFC pay per view. Not too sure what we'll having to eat yet but I still have one more day to figure that out..lol..

Darrin and I were both back at work this week and back to regular training. My workouts are great and I'm looking forward to getting back on the diet January 2nd!! We have have lots of news to announce in the New Year and lots of great things happening in our personal life and business lives!! 2007 is going to be a Fantastic year for us...2006 is ending on a fabulous note and 2007 will begin on an even better one! has hit the newsstands !!This issue is the biggest and most informative one to date! Terry and the guys at IFM are doing a fantastic job at bringing a magazine of this quality to the Canadian market--for free!!! Darrin's articles are highlighted on the cover of this edition; Rise and Shine & Dynamic Delts. Jeff Steinberg, executive editor, is pictured with his baby boy on page 10...what a great photo. I can't wait to meet the little guy, hopefully Jeff will make his holiday rounds next week. I hate to mention this, but there is one misprint and that happens to be in Darrin's bio....it reads "...has been involved in the success of over 100 clients...." it should state "....success of over 1000 clients." I can't wait to finish reading the magazine. Darrin's recipes in this issue are for everyone who needs variety in their breakfast regime or who simply wants to impress a loved one. 29 and holding...for a year anyway! I had a fantastic birthday!!

Thank you to everyone who spoiled me and made my birthday simply the best!! It was a week long celebration and Darrin spoiled me like crazy cooking for me every night. He is a culinary master in the kitchen from pot stickers to salmon & risotto to ravioli...everything tasted like it came from a 5 star restaurant. My mom had a wonderful dinner for me too and I got the chance to spend the evening with my sister and Paul and some other family members..I must say my brother-in-law was looking as handsome as could be that night...lol...look at the post below.

The Halls are Decked!
We finally got a chance to put the Christmas tree up and wrap a couple of the gifts we have purchased already. It's beginning to feel like the Christmas season is upon us (which it is but until the decorations go up..it doesn't feel very festive). The weeks are flying by too fast but we are always ready for celebrating when the Christmas week arrives. I will begin my baking this weekend and hopefully finish my shopping this week.

Rio received her very first Christmas card yesterday...it was from her friends at Holly's Pride in Ancaster.. she sniffed it like crazy and said "woof" or "thank you"!

I headed out to the OPA level one and two Bodybuilding and Figure Championships in Brantford. I was there for the day with Allmax and to cheer on my friends that were in the show. Congratulations to Tami (pictured left with her coach Tammy) on her 2nd place finish, congrats to Jake on looking fabulous on stage and being in the two largest classes of the entire show, and Dave on his 3rd place finish in the heavy weight class. It was huge show with a great turnout, over 130 athletes competed. It was so nice to see everyone and meet new friends!! It's always one big reunion at these events. What a great way to finish the 2006 competitive season!!

Sunday

Darrin and I attended the Food and Wine expo in Toronto at the Convention Center. It was nice afternoon with the exception of the parking being a little hectic..with 4 other shows going on and with something going on at the Rogers Center--downtown was crazy. The Food and Wine expo was a little smaller than we expected but we had the chance to sample lots of different foods and wine from all over the world. Darrin had deep fried Octopus (pictured left) and got the chance to try several different wines, beer, ale, coolers, and Saki. My favourite beverage was called the Blackfly, it's a vodka cooler and it's yummy! But anything made with sugar is tasty to me:):) We had a very busy weekend and it all ended off with ordering in pizza and watching Survivor Series.

UFC 65...fight night at our place.

Canada is bringing back the belt to Montreal!! What a great fight last night and the outcome couldn't have been more perfect. George St. Pierre dominated the cage and became the new UFC champ!! Canadians Rock!! (GSP is pictured on the right with the FORMER welterweight champ)

Last night Mark, Dwayne, Melissa and Beckham all came over to watch the fight. It was a great evening. Beckham once again kept everyone entertained with his new tricks:)

delicious!! but thank goodness this morning for self-cleaning ovens and barbeque's.

The ribs were so tender and his homemade sauce is to die for...

I did some baking and since I wanted to test out a few new recipes before I begin my Christmas baking I thought this would be the perfect opportunity....and it seemed like everyone enjoyed the new goodies:) There's one more person that has to test the treats for me but he'll have to wait till Kay gets home from the gym with his goodie box:):)

The guys were the first ones to "dig" in to the treats....

Thank you Dwayne and Melissa for the wine opener...its awesome! Now Darrin won't be drinking cork while playing all the new games!!!

FINALLY.... AN UPDATE

Hey everyone....I apologize for my lack of updates this past week but there's been too much going on and not enough time. But I've finally found a few minutes (in between baking cookies) to do a quick update. For everyone that has sent emails...i will be answering all of them over the next few days. I had a very nice surprise in a previous post (in the comments) ...and in regards to the comment.....

My training is going great, my strength is up in the gym and my diet is great from Monday -Friday then i get to relax and indulge on the weekends. Darrin has been spoiling me with his "out of this world" Ribs and "clean" meatloaf.

Last night we spent the evening with Dwayne and Melissa at their place. As usual my cheeks are killing me today from laughing all night. When the boys get going with the stories, watch out!! Its a comedy fest..and we all love every minute of it..lol.. They had Mel and I in stitches all night.

We brought out the jersey we picked up for Beckham in Toronto last weekend and kept our fingers crossed that it fit him and it DID!

PERFECTLY!!!!

He should fit in to it for hopefully a few more months! I'm sure DMac will have lots of pics on his blog of baby "BMac" sporting the new gear!

A weekend to remember.

What a weekend...

Darrin and I have been in Toronto since Friday afternoon. Friday night, Darrin and I had a FANTASTIC dinner at Mistura. Mossimo (that appears regularly on the food network) is the head chef/co-owner of Mistura. Darrin and I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for months and thought since we were already in Toronto for the weekend this would be the perfect opportunity. We thoroughly every course we ate! I had CARCIOFI FRITTI for an appetizer and it was very tasty. We'll be going back there in the future!

A night to remember...

We were staying at the Delta Chelsea Hotel for a family function being held on Saturday. The hotel was OK, the food was a little overpriced but it was located right downtown which was a 10 minute walk to the church we had to go to on Saturday. After a little bit of shopping down Yonge street Saturday morning..Darrin and I got ready for the festivities...his Aunt and Uncle were renewing their wedding vows after 45 years of marriage and many true "Robinsons" were in attendance. Many flew in from Dublin Ireland, New york and quite a few of us travelled from around the GTA & Southern Ontario for the celebration. The ceremony was very nice and the reception was fantastic. The Irish sure do know how to throw a PARTY!!!

It was quite the night!! Lots of singing, dancing, eating, drinking and celebrating. The last time Darrin and I saw a few members of his family was a few years back at another wedding. However, this celebration was a true "Robinson" event--with almost the whole family attending. Many relatives that were in attendance this weekend Darrin hasn't seen since he was a little boy, 20-30 years ago, it was heartwarming to hear many stories from his childhood and meet his family--I was snapping my camera all night to capture all the special moments. Its always soo nice to see everyone and meet new people--there are only a few more to meet then I can officially say...i've met everyone!! It was a night to remember....well at least for the people that didn't have too much to drink, lol....but lots and lots of pics were being taken to remind everyone of this special weekend.

Darrin and I would like to wish everyone a safe trip home and we look forward to seeing everyone again in the future, next time we'll be the ones travelling!!

I brought Rio to her hotel on Friday and I'll pick her up tomorrow after the gym. She was excited to get in the car and go to the hotel on Friday morning. I can't wait to pick her up tomorrow afternoon, I miss her :(

I think i need to go and take a nap after a weekend of celebrating..my body can't handle that much excitement all in one weekend..lol...

Meeting Beckham....

Saturday evening we had a few friends over to watch the UFC --we had a great time and there were lots of good fights on the ppv. Dmac and Mel came over and brought Beckham so we could finally meet the little guy....he's adorable!! He was soo funny running around and getting into everything he could...he was lov'n the dishtowels on the cupboards..lol... he's SO little that we all just laughed and watched him. He definitely kept us all entertained. For dinner, we ordered in some Italian and while the fight was on we ate lots of goodies that i had baked the night before and Mel brought nachos and a very tasty dip...we were all STUFFED!! It was great. I had to send some goodies home with Mark and Dmac, we just had tooo much here...Darrin was still eating goodies the next day, he was in heaven!

The next ppv fight is November 18th and we'll be doing it all over again!! That's a hint Mel...keep that evening open. Gotta love a good fight!! I know we all do!

It was great hanging out with Mel & Dmac, especially hearing all about their honeymoon in Mexico. They surprised us and brought us back some goodies, Darrin a t-shirt and a tank top for myself from Senor Frogs. The clothing is awesome!! Thanks guys!! I remember when we visited Senor Frogs...Darrin couldn't keep his shirt on and was the center of attention in the bar when he was up dancing with all the girls.....ohhh the memories--those are priceless!!

Its Monday...

I can't believe its Monday already. The weekends go by way too quick. Today after Darrin and I worked out I had my first appointment with Rob Gula. He's an amazing RMT who specializes in ART. After 10 years of trying everything under the sun and basically giving up with traditional doctors 4 years ago--they didn't do anything in my best interest and I'm definitely not the kind of person to run to doctors every time something doesn't feel right just to waste time and ohips $$... because the answers were/are always the same..."we could try this (referring to another treatment) but we can't guarantee it will help" So..last week I decided to give Rob a try and book an appointment. He was recommended highly by our friend Jeff Steinberg and has a great reputation in the industry, not to mention the sheer convenience of his office being located in our new gym. Rob is VERY knowledgeable and down to earth. His confidence is unsurpassed and surprisingly I do believe and feel after a few more treatments I'll begin to notice a remarkable difference in my body. Kay "mom" also had a treatment with Rob today and she looked very relaxed and moved like a totally different person when she came out of his office...it was comforting to see and hear how she felt after seeing him. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress while seeing Rob because if he can help me without all the invasive treatment I've endured, he will be a miracle worker!

The first snowfall of the season!

Wow..i cannot believe how fast this week is flying by. We had a great Thanksgiving dinner at Dick and Kay's on Sunday. We were all stuffed and had lots of leftovers. On Sunday, my mom went to the cottage and my sister & Paul went to Paul's mom's place. Our family was split up but we were all thinking of one another throughout the weekend. I got to see my mom on Monday when she popped in to pick up a pumpkin pie Kay had made for her.
LA'S NEW DIET BEGINS!!
I started my new diet stats this week and I feel AWESOME!! It's not really a new "diet" just new numbers. I'm already down a couple pounds and Darrin is letting me lift heavy in the gym again!! Woo hoo! I like my workouts again and am motivated to hit the gym everyday.

The new "club" is great...lots of variety and new equipment to use. Jake came by yesterday and signed up and it was great to see her, we hung for an hour and got caught up. She is right on track for the Brantford show and will be stage ready ahead of schedule. Pete and Elaine have signed up at the new place as well as many other members of our "gym family". Pete is looking great too--he's feeling good and his strength is up in the gym!! Keep training hard guys...its paying off!! only 5.5weeks to go......

The last couple of weeks have been extremely busy for Darrin and the response and reaction to the new company is over whelming!! But like every company, in the beginning it takes time to build and establish..but he's on his way!! Darrin has top lawyers, accountants and advisers all working for him and the success of this business is guaranteed! In five years he'll look back on all the work he's doing now and sacrifices we've made but he'll be glad he did it. Hard work now means big payoffs for the future!

I came home from work today and looked outside and can you believe it was SNOWING!! I couldn't believe what i was seeing...lol...wow..Christmas is coming too fast! But ironically i bought my first Christmas gift last week, yes.. i love Christmas and start my shopping early:)

On Saturday Jake and I spent most of the day in London at the OPA level one London Championships. We went up to cheer on our friend Tami (you can see her results in the post below). It was great to see everyone, its been a couple of months since i've been to a local show. The next Jamor OPA show that i'll be attending and representing Allmax will be the Brantford comp. in November. Jake, Tami and Pete will all be competing....and they are all look'n great!! Keep up the good work guys!

Thanks for all the vacation ideas everyone:) I still have the vacation bug...Especially since we received our settlement from the travel agency earlier this week...but i'm gonna have to sit tight for a little while longer. We'll let you know when and where we decide to go.

World Wide!! We had a good weekend and managed to accomplish a bunch of stuff but I think its time for a holiday soon...lol...i wish.. Actually, we will be taking a holiday again eventually, Darrin and Sunquest finally came to a conclusion after we lodged a complaint regarding our Jamaican holiday (they lost our original resort reservations) and they are giving us quite a significant reimbursement in vouchers for a future holiday. Any suggestions on where we should go next? We've already been to the Mayan Riviera, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and don't really care to goto Cuba. We can't wait to get away and relax in the sunshine!! All the best to DMac and Mel as they travel to Mexico next week to enjoy their honeymoon!!
We went out to dinner on Sunday evening to celebrate my Aunt's 50th birthday (my mom's baby sister)..Tammy I were very close to Aunt Cathy while we were growing up 'cause we spent every spare minute we had on the farm. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Aunt Cathy!! We had dinner with my mom, Aunt Judi (my mom's sister), Uncle Donley, Uncle Wayne and to our surprise my cousin Kim came with her twin boys--Ricky and Alex. Ricky and Alex are growing soo fast, they are both just over a year old and already are learning sign language, its quite fascinating to watch them. Kim is an excellent mom--The twins sure haven't slowed her down..she still leads a productive life while being an amazing mom, role model and teacher to these incredible boys. We also want to wish Uncle Donley and Aunt Judi and very safe and adventurous trip as they head to Maine then onto China for 18 days. (here are the twins..last year of course)

Only a couple days away from the North American Championships..i'm a little sad that I won't be there but all is good and I wish everyone head'n down there all the best, Especially Cindy (Curry) and Nancy (Di Nino). You both are awesome competitors and I'm honoured of the friendships we've developed through the world of competing. My thoughts and wishes are with you both as you head down and represent Canada!! The Canadian Nationals (bodybuilding version) is also being held this weekend and in conjunction with the event, will be the CBBF meeting where there may be some changes in the official staff of the CBBF....it will interesting to find out what happens at this meeting...Especially after the controversy at the Fitness and Figure Nationals.

BRANTFORD COUNTDOWN!

Peter and Jake are currently preparing for the level 1 and 2 OPA show in Brantford on November 25th. Both are doing awesome and still have 10.5 weeks to go.

Hopefully I'll be able to sneak a couple progress shots of each of them to post in another couple of weeks. Stay focused and train hard guys!!

Long but wet weekend!

I Hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend. I don't know how it was anywhere else but here the weather was far from perfect. Saturday we had a HUGE storm- it rained all day, Sunday was rainy and Monday was overcast but at least it didn't rain.

My sister and her husband were scheduled to go skydiving on Saturday but due to the weather conditions it was postponed until the end of September. Since the skydiving was postponed we ended up heading into Burlington to Ribfest. We must be HARDCORE ribbers because the weather was HORRIBLE...it was sooo windy and the rain was intense. The only good thing was... we didn't have to stand in any line ups because there weren't many people there for a good reason...lol..Darrin and I were SOAKED when we got home but our tummies were happy and

satisfied from yet another Ribfest.

Since the weather was far from spectacular, the rest of the weekend was quiet, we did a little shopping and went to the movies (saw crank, its an ok movie..more of a rental though) and other than Darrin working on business stuff we didn't do too much. I got the chance to sit back and relax, which was nice.

ANOTHER CANADIAN HEAD'N TO THE OLYMPIA!

I want to congratulate IFBB figure pro , Nina Luchka, on her 3rd place finish in Montreal this past weekend. She is now qualified for the Olympia. Canada is going to have some amazing gals this year in Vegas, Mindi, Jane and Nina will all be representing Canada. And to all the athletes currently preparing for the North Americans...ALL THE BEST AS YOU ENTER YOUR FINAL WEEKS-- Kim, Nancy, Cindy, Lynda, Jennie, and Brigitte --go and show 'em what Canada's got!!

My sister sent me a couple photos of one of her babies...I thought they were very cute so I'm posting them for everyone to see. His name is short for kangaroo due to his missing parts. He was born missing his front legs and tail. He's such an awesome little guy!

10 years ago...my life changed

PLEASE DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!

Yesterday, Saturday, Sept 2nd represents 10 years since a fatal car crash occurred. I was involved in this crash, my family, friends and loved ones were all affected by this tragedy and it changed my life forever. The crash was caused by a drunk driver who paid the ultimate price of death-often the drunk driver causes death to the innocent victims but in this case,

She chose to drive drunk..she chose to die.

However, the car she hit, I was a passenger in and I ended up severely injured in the hospital. I could go on and lecture about the negatives of drinking and driving since I was a victim, but since that awful day I view life differently...I take each day and cherish every moment. I still have the scars and pain to remind me of that horrific night but in a brief moment life can be taken away so I don't use the excuse of pain to prevent me from living my life to the fullest. I have proven that life can go on , I can overcome difficult obstacles and I can benefit from everything I do in life.

Please if you drink, don't drive...its not worth it!

sad, sad, news....SUMMER'S OVER...
I can't believe the last week of summer is almost come to an end. I hope everyone has a great long weekend and enjoys the time before going back to school and work. We want send out a special note to Brendan as he enters grade 8 next week. Have a great first day back to the ole classroom and try not to have too much of a video game withdrawal, we'll be think'n about ya!

We have lots of stuff planned this weekend and hopefully lots of great pics to share with everyone next week. If the weather holds out and doesn't rain or is cloudy, my sister and Paul will be skydiving on Saturday and we'll be there to catch it all on camera. I still think they are nuts...but I love them and can't wait to see them complete this adventure!!

Darrin and I attended the 2006 Goodlife Awards Gala in Toronto last night. Darrin was nominated for Fitness Manager of the year however, received a huge honour when goodlife announced a surprise award. This award was awarded to Darrin for having the top PT revenue in 2005! Darrin had an amazing 2005 and beat all the records in Goodlife's history and finally got

RECOGNIZED!

Here's Tim and Lindsay..it was nice to spend the evening with them. They will be getting married in December of 2007 --we wish them a lifetime of happiness and are honoured to call them friends.

We had nice time in Toronto. The venue was all held under one roof, it was awesome that we didn't have to drive anywhere. We stayed at the Toronto Westin Harbour Castle--the hotel was great and had the best room service. After the awards, Darrin and I went across the street to get a bite to eat...and it just happened that we ended up at a sports pub where they were broadcasting UFC. Darrin couldn't have been happier...received an award, got to see the fight and had a day off work! Darrin had to go back to attend the conference today & tonight but was able to drive me back home in between.
